Rules & Regulations

The online competition will be divided into three sessions, which are preliminary round, semi-final, and final.

All sessions will be conducted through online platform and recorded accordingly. Details are as follows:

Preliminary

Individual

Number of participants: Unlimited

Content: Freestyle Creation

Duration of Submission Work: Within 1minutes 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

Qualifiers: The submissions will be reviewed and selected by the judges. 12 contestants will be admitted to the Semi-Final round.

SEMIFINAL

Group Matches

Number of participants: 12 (12 finalists will be randomly assigned into a group of two)
Duration of Submission Work: Within 2 minutes 30 seconds to 3 minutes 30 seconds

Content: Freestyle creation with teammate based on group assigned.

Qualifiers:: The submissions will be reviewed and selected by the judges. 8 contestants will be admitted to the Final round.

Submission Preparation Time: 21 days

FINAL

Individual match &

2-player PK match

Number of participants: 8

Content: Finalists will compete among each other based on both form of matches as below:

Match 1:​

  • Format: Online Recording

  • Content: Freestyle Creation

  • Duration: within 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes

Match 2:

  • Format: Organizer will assign finalists into a group of 2 for PK session via drawing method.

  • Content: The conference will distribute a BGM to all contestants.

  • Contestants must create their own solo piece based on BGM given. (Details will be explained before final)

JUDGING PARAMETERS

Winners of each awards will be selected by judges on the spot.

The highest award will be "The Best Drummer" award, and remaining goes to Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.

Best Popularity Awards:

1. The video submitted by the contestants will be posted on specific platform during the competition period.

2. Contestants will need to share their videos to get likes from their supporters for gaining points.

3. Score calculation method: 1 like =1 point; 1 sharing =2 points (unlimited entries).

4. Contestant's video which gained the highest points within the time limit will be the winner.

5. This award will be eligible for both videos submitted during Preliminary and Semifinal round.

6. The winner of the Best Popularity award during Preliminary and Semifinal round will each receive a certificate and a prize.

Terms & Conditions

(1) All submissions must not be edited with any special effects or any post-production.

(2) The content of the creation should not involve any sensitive topics such as religion, politics, or violence.

(3) The duration of the creation shall follow the specified time limit given.

(4) Contestants are not allowed to register under false age or false identity.

(5) If the submission is not done within specific time limit given, it will be taken as voluntary abstention for the competition.

(6) Organizer reserve the right of all the contestants' creations for publicity, editing, rebroadcasting and other purposes.

(7) For those who voluntarily withdraw from the competition, the registration fee will not be refunded.

(8) Decision made by all judges will be the final decision of the competition.

(9) The organizer reserves the right to amend any rules and regulations at any time.

(10) Copyright of the entries will belong to the organizer and contestants themselves.

WAYS OF PRESENTATION

Mainly in the form of any percussion music ( For eg. you may use books, pencils, buckets, percussion instruments and other items to present your work in rhythm)

Video recording rules

  1. Kindly ensure your video is shoot in landscape orientation.

  2. You are encourage to use a tripod for your shooting to ensure the stabilization of your video.

  3. Please ensure that the video's pixel is at least 1080p or above.

  4. Kindly ensure that the video and sound quality are both in good conditions with sufficient lighting and no sonic boom.

  5. Once submission is done, no changes or substitutions are allowed.

  6. Please make sure that the presentation of the performance can be clearly seen on the screen.

  7. Kindly refer to the specific format require as below for the video record.

HOW TO SUBMIT

  1. The film will required to be renamed according to the format: ContestantID+Name_Name of Creation; example: 1001 Hong XX_MCO Madness March

  2. Please upload your video to your personal Google Drive and copy the video link.

  3. All contestants will need to send their video link and email to drummeralliance@gmail.com

  4. Once submission is done, please inform our person in charge, Hui Zhi (Contact No: 011-2633 4807)
