CROSS CHIN

Cross Chin was born in Sandakan, Sabah. Started his journey in the percussive world at a tender age of 13 under Bernard Goh who first exposed him to the art of 24 festive drums. In 2007, Cross completed his Bachelors in Illustration with Honors from the University of Wolverhampton, England.
In 2008, he returned to Malaysia, and rejoined his mentor and The Hands Percussion as a Rehearsal Master and Commercial show Choreographer. After much deliberation, Cross took the next step in his artistic journey, leaving Hands Percussion and went on a year hiatus to create <Travel Journal>. He travelled throughout the country and the region to coach 24 Festive Drum groups as well as rediscovering his passion for percussion.
In 2014, together with Zac Tan, Cross co-founded his own performing group, Souls Impact where he helms the position of its Artistic Director.
He is not only active in theater, performing and music. He is also committed to the development and promotion of the 24 festive drum education. He leads his team Souls Impact, actively involved in the competition and training camp. Cross has served as the judge and leader of the competition many times. He is also a lecturer who teaches the coach and judge of 24 Festive Drums.
Joined the marching band at the age of 10, Thong served as Commander and Head of Snare Drum. He then joined The Seremban Chung Hua High School Twenty-Four Festive Drums at the age of 13 and started his drumming journey with Bernard Goh (Founder of Hands Percussion). In 2003, Thong joined Hands Percussion as an amateur drummer, became a full-time drummer in year 2006, and had been participating actively in concerts and activities within the group ever since.
Thong had performed in a lot of countries, such as Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, Switzerland, Marcus Mantegna, Taiwan, Australia, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Dubai and Doha, for more than 500 performances. Later on, Thong Yoong How became the Head of the Outreach and Education Department, responsible for planning teaching activities, Twenty-Four Festive Drums coach training and the promotion of Twenty-Four Festive Drums culture. Thong has 23 years of drumming experience and 10 years of coaching experience in this field. In 2016, Thong left Hands Percussion and set up his own FrythmS Academy Institute, with the aim of spreading the art of percussion. The group does not limit themselves to certain forms of performances and drumming. The objective is to promote everything that is rhythm-based, from five-sense to sense-unrelated.

JAN CALVIN CHAN

Recently listed “Successful People in Malaysia 2021” by the Britishpedia. Born and bred in Seremban. Initially trained as a pianist since young, but grow immerse interests in drumming during high school.
During tertiary education, he received mentorship from Christopher Quinlan, a renowned drum educator from Australia, teaching drums on Australia National TV.
Jan Calvin has been teaching for 15 years, owned Music Talk Studio with 3 branches. His past works include sectioning for Planetshakers and Victor Wong, judged numerous music competitions online and offline, and provided drum & percussive workshops for churches, camps, & Persatuan Pusat Music & Guru Malaysia.
HSIEH YU-SHAN
Taiwanese graduated from Taipei National University Of the Arts (TNUA)
with a Master of Music majoring in Percussion.
Expertise in disassembling different styles of music, recreating and performing with the combination and expansion of modern and traditional elements. Uses humor to enhance an outgoing, live performance to give percussion an unlimited imagination.
